His eyes were searching wearily, his patience at an end
Of being at the status quo, of looking for a friend

The girl was standing graciously, with poise to fit a queen
Her lovely smile was sparkling, like nothing he had seen

Their young eyes met and interlocked they would not turn away
Her dazzling eyes told him what she didn't need to say

To this day no one knows which future they will see
Uncertain is the path ahead, will they together be?

I like the suspense left in the reader when you finished the poem, it flowed well too. Nice poem.
