Smile (You Put It There)

-Smile (You Put It There)-

I did something today I haven't done in a while.
I thought of you and started to smile,
Because you make me happy in so many ways,
And you're who I've thought of for so many days.

Now that I've found somebody like you,
There's nothing more that I'd rather do,
Than spend as much time as I can with you.

Now my feelings are strong,
And so is my heart.
So if the day comes,
When we have to part,
I'll smile because it happened,
And cry because it's over.
I'll learn from what you taught me
And teach it to my heart.

But now there's a smile on my face.
You put it there.
There's a light in my heart,
Just knowing you care.

I agree with Jenni that it's nice to see someone happy, these days it seems as if everyone is writing about problems and forgetting about good times. The poem was very well written and a nice break to read.

I like it. Even though it can be sad when it happens, there's always good that comes out of the experience. Well written and thanks for sharing.
