It's amazing how I shut down,
hold my breath and close my eyes
and still sense that you are gone
It's funny how you start to smile
and all at once I realize
we were so perfectly wrong for each other
So this is what you planned
You just never once let on
In your silence was the warning that you knew
I'd never take
And you knew that in the end, I'd be begging you
to fake one more hollow conversation.

Let me hear the lies
in your poetry one more time
So I can hate myself for pretending not to see
through every line and every word you had to say.
for pretending not to see a mile away
that you would tie me to the edge and turn to leave
Tied so tight, I can't move
so tight I can't breathe
This is what I was afraid of
but you mocked my fear and held me tighter
This is what you said would never happen
You are such a beautiful liar

The day you were born, you were born free
That is your privilege.

(big hugggsssssss) Believe me when I say this, no liar is ever beautiful! (sad sigh) Sometimes the lies can be hidden and it may feel like beauty, but when the truth comes out, all the beauty is gone as honesty is what makes true beauty strong! (sigh) This is very heartfelt, sweet friend, God Bless You, you have my vote, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kandi, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

The first few lines got me right into the poem, and the last line ended it just right.
My vote for this one, great job!

Hey Kandi!!! Long time, no read!!  This was a really painful poem for you, I'm sure.  You each ounce of you hurt and dissapointment and turn it into a wonderfuly sad story...very well done as usual.
