Dead Weight of love |

Broken in the reeds Desperation written on your hands The silence is deadly Water lapping against the sand The rocky bottom Unmortared foundation Leaves sink Wind breaks the surface Stirring up the silt Puzzlement stamped on every motion Of your abuse Maybe you’ll wake up Sun sets upon you Crumbling Discouraged in love Decay on my heart Rotten to the core Never clean Always unclean in your hands The water ripples in this future Undone by my thoughts Useless in your arms Love bears no meaning Falling deeper Sinking faster This is the dead weight of caring "Despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage, Then someone will say what is lost can never be saved" |

(big hugggsssss) Oh Regina, this is such a heartaching poem, dearest friend, love should never feel like a dead weight and I hope now your deserving heart has that grace as light as a feather in the spring breeze! (sigh) This is heartfelt, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Regina, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

This is really beautiful. Thank you. *applause* I won't let myself vote for just any poem, but this one deserved it. *To see the world in a grain of sand, and heaven in a wild flower...Hold infinity in the palm of your hand and eternity in an hour...* |

This is really great, especially with the mood I'm in now. Great imagery. I doubt it was spawned from the same kinda feeling I have about love at the moment, however, I still identify with it. It's great. |
