Silence....
Footsteps down he corridors,
Shadows playing games on the walls.
Thoughts escaping,
Not knowing how to cope.
Afraid....
The silence , deafening.
The knocking on the windows,
Every sound a shreek.
Scared....
Of what lies beyond.
Not knowing,
Something there or not
Hot & Burning....
Eyes tightly shut,
Tears on the brink,
Holding them back,
Signs of weakness.
Fear....
The worst enemy.
Unwanted feelings,
Cast away all hopes.
Giving in....
Tears flowing.
Scared beyond wits,
Heart racing,
Body cannot take,
Then... all quiet.
Nothing....
Heart beats stopped,
No more fear,
Only one thing remains
Silence....

very good poem. i like how it builds up and up and then...silence. great!
