He takes his drink,
Gets in the car,
Behind the wheel,
Leaving the bar.

He thinks he's ok
But he's far from sober-
One wrong move
And his life could be over

Or maybe not his life
But that little child
In the car next to him,
Gazing with a smile.

Or maybe not the child
But that child's mother,
Maybe his father,
Or maybe his brother.

That family left broken
(Not to mention your own)
All because you were drunk,
And driving yourself home.

Now you must live
With at least one regret-
That you drove drunk
The night of the wreck.
