The spoon plunges in, exploring the freezing depths of the favored 'comfort food'. The pint of safeway select butter brickle held lovingly in the caress of my hand. I clean the spoon of frozen happiness, sighing heavily as the movie unfolds. A romantic comedy, the ones that make you cry. A well-loved box of kleenex is my copilot, as I steer through the skies of lonliness. It is a monday night, and one spent revelling in sadness. In some perverted way I enjoy wallowing in sorrow. Its like pressing a bruise to see if it hurts. You know it will. Another spoonful is pulled from the creamy depths, another sigh set forth. The blanket is pulled up farther, the phone unplugged, the mood set in, and the heart ache renewed. |

I really liked this poem. It really shows what girls (like me) will sometimes do when they are feeling down. Great job! -Jeanette- |
