I'm sick,
Sick from all the pain
The pain I must deal with
Each and every day

There's not one day
Just one
Where I can be free from everything
And just enjoy life

Instead, I get up each morning
Looking pain in the eye
And realizing
That the day
Is just one of another million of my lifetime
Another miserable hassle I must survive
The hassle of being "perfect"

So much is expected and it seems I deliver so little
The pressure of having to get straight A's, playing volleyball well, having friends, and not being fat
Has finally taken its toll

I feel empty inside
And when all I hear is criticism
From the parent I love the most
I can't help but blame myself
And believe
That it is all my fault

And then
I strive even harder for "perfection"
And at the end,
When I do everything right
I still feel empty

I'm just tired of everything
The pain, the sorrow, the agony in my life
I need a break
I don't want it anymore

I just want to wake up
And for one day
Be free and feel happy inside
Instead of cold and empty

So I say now I'm done
I want no more
Because all it brings is pain

This poem was very emotional. I felt the emotions running threw it. I know how you feel when you said you try for perfection and its still not good enough for your parent. But you gotta just try and do wut makes you happy and if you please yourself dont worry about what other people think ...

this was a really great poem....its filled with emotions. alot of people in the world go through this stuff everyday and its good that you can write about how you are feeling. keep up the good work.
