(With September 11th's anniversary approaching, these feelings of sorrow came to me, thinking of our children and wishing everyone to love openly and let them rebuild peace that is lost in this life! ![]() ![]() Thinking Of Tomorrow's Youth By: Noah Eaton 8/30/02 Yesterday I wish I could sojourn I press my hands in prayer to Whom It May Concern Thinking of the children I hold my head and cry Saying "Why!" as they hope to keep up their chins and survive Hop off a Greyhound, I see all these orphans facing lifes tests Wondering how they miss their moms and dads so, to have a nice home to peacefully rest And other parents filing divorce Leaving their kids hearts sore, their needs ignored Too bad the boys mom couldn't say how much she loved him everyday Or the girls dad say everything will be wonderful before he went away Now I stand in church trying to fight the tears After all these years, I pray we can shift some gears... Thinking of tomorrow's children Reaching out to all our children... Reading the newspaper it always seems there's bad news Playing this game of Russian Roulette, it seems someone always will lose I still pray for all those hurt by Columbine Planting angel dolls and flowers beside every epitaph they have to inscribe I send prayers out on a broader scale Hugging those who've had losses, as they silently wail And those who feel they've felt young love at first sight Only finding out later it was too good to be true, wishing love was never blind Now it seems we all treat each other like stereotypes We all once were like fraternities and sororities, only now divided wide Converting terms of endearment into connotations So many objections, too many complications Thinking of tomorrow's children Reaching out to all our children... You can't blame them for feeling so unorthodox So many are hit by this smallpox, washed up on the cold truths rocks I'm sick of all this name-calling and shame Every single day, there always seems to be many in pain I urge you all to hold your children close Love them with all your heart, never let them go You know their future depends so much on you There has to be an antidote out there, the main ingredient is you... Thinking of tomorrow's children Reaching out to all our children... "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." Noah... Such truth in your words. We could all be a little more loving and caring and take just an extra minute out of our lives each day to help both strangers and loved ones. The children of the world need help and guidance if they are to ever pass on to future generations what we were taught by our parents... Paul |

"After all these years, I pray we can shift some gears..." Exactly, Noah. It's getting late for society, but there is still hope. Thank you for being one of the gear shifters. ![]() |

Noah, it is so hard to remember back almost a year ago and the attacks on America. I have been trying for weeks to write a poem and each time I attempt, I start to cry. I love this poem and the plea to love and hug our children. That's what is so important in life. Hugs to you my friend, Marti |

"washed up on the cold truths rocks" I shivered when I read this. Nice writing. It really touches the heart. |
