Sparing The Rod.... |

To break the rod and spoil the wayward child where but the hand is left to set the pace. To still the heart in love when one is riled to run the hunt in search of anger’s face. As letters fall and words become the puzzle upon the scrabble of the thoughts we keep. The goblet filled with anxs which we muzzle until the morning wakes from fitful sleep. But when a year does pass the memory of a time that brought the sadness flowing out where tears then fall upon the winged dove forgetting what the reason was to shout. The rod of anger spared upon the child shall bring to bear a reason both have smiled. [This message has been edited by Magnus (08-30-2002 04:10 PM).] |

(big hugggssssss) Oh Barry, I'm always heartbroken when I hear of a child being abused like that, my heart goes out to the and as mentioned in comments already, God would never allow that! (sad sigh) My prayers are with all afflicted with this pain, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

To all.... This topic is very controversial... Is the rod the appropriate thing? Can a rod be just simply biting words that never leave the heart? Or, can it be both the physical and emotional side of what is said or done in anger? Four A's... Action plus Anger equals Abuse Always.... So, before you decide to use the rod, whether physically or emotionally....ensure that the anger is in check... Thanx for reading and comments....HUGS all around!!!! |

Dor...thank you very much for reading and noting that this is a sonnet.... Sy, thanx as always..... BC....with regard to your remark....NO, one does not forget....we just have to learn to forgive and go on about our lives... I remember the rod well....Mine was a switch that my mother used very well....too well.. Sometimes I wondered when she would stop... |
