She is where it all began She is how it started This road of many twists and turns that has left me broken-hearted She opened up this door and though others have walked through Only she can close it But she's long gone And everything's wrong and now I don't know what to do to return to you Have you ever had someone open up your eyes when you didn't even realize they were closed? Someone who showed you your heart's secret treasure there in front of your gaze, right under your nose Someone who made your colors shine brighter A rainbow of hues you never noticed before Someone who led you with a hand and a smile into a world that offered you so much more See where it all began Come see how it started This rocky road of ups and downs that has left me broken-hearted See this lonely open door that others have walked through Only she can close it But she's long gone And I'm no longer strong enough to do what I need to do to return to you Have you ever wished you could turn back time And rewrite the book of your days? Would you correct the mistakes your heart once made if someone offered to show you the ways? Hindsight may be twenty-twenty but I still see clear enough to make it back to the woman who never stopped giving me The love and happiness my heart now lacks She is how it all will end To finish what she started She will guide me off this road that has left me broken-hearted She will close and lock this door after I've walked through Only her love can close it In her arms I belong My heart has known all along No more wondering what to do I return to you |

Well done! Each section could stand alone, especially the first section, but together they make a beautifully plaintive song. Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

I would tell you that I know this song. But, then again, so do so many others. Thank you. What light through yon window breaks? It is the east, and Juliet is the sun. |

Very touching. I can feel your pain, but remember that, "It is better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all." You sound like a very loving man and I'm sure you will be able to fill this temporary void in your life with your own loving light. Love, Light & Laughter Linda |

I find that everytime I read you. . . I'm reading myself. . . great work Jeff. . . ------------------------------------------------------ To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

Have you ever wished you could turn back time And rewrite the book of your days? Would you correct the mistakes your heart once made if someone offered to show you the ways? Yup, I've been through that door and had it slammed in my face....so I stood there for a while pondering the reasons why, but the answers never came so I simply walked back out. Life is too short to just stand there, but that doesn't mean it was easy to leave it all behind. I hope in time you find the stength to heal your heart. This hurt and I commend you for writing with such raw emotions. |

(big hugggssssss) Oh Jeffrey, I feel a powerful yearning in your words, I wish love to return to you too as I too share this same kind of yearning! (sigh) This is powerful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Jeff, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! I found your poem to be very tender and heart felt...something that is in large part lacking in our world, at least in my opinion...I loved it. julie |

Great story, now take the steps that will lead you to the happy ending! (I'm assuming this is about Rhonda). Some people say if you go far enough, you eventually end up back where you started. |
