"Gaiea's Tears" Where is the goddess who sits on clouds? She brings water to the earth from her laments In the shuddering stillness of the pre-storm, she pouts and tosses her rage in lightning missiles at the desecrators; Their laughs at Her a supposed impotence that validates their potentates Her tumult thunders over mountains; echoes over dales: hair raised on her favored creatures, dumb, and scared Still six-sided bones are tossed in her temple Each decision a gamble against Gaeia, a losing hand. With a serpentine will, She floods the rivers rains a cleansing vengeance on the earth’s toxins Against its nurtured will, Her flora pushes thru the embryonic protective crust, injected with life completing its necessary cycle, despite the temple foulers Finally She sags, spent, and cried out; the barrage ends. The demoniac laughter never stopping, but She smiles a satisfied grin No matter how hard they try, or how careless their selfish gains, they cannot best her so she sits unseen in the clouds until Her next teardrop falls [This message has been edited by ShadowRider (08-28-2002 09:27 PM).] |

(big hugggssssss) Oh Jeff, this is powerful, sweet friend, it saddens me thinking how sometimes some of us try so hard yet we can't stop the degradation and how everything has to be so analytical and argumentative! (sad sigh) I pray we can all become more harmonic and be satisfied with what we truly have and find love and harmony in it all, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Jeff, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

Very deep Jeff, and well written... Thinking of the earth, it's beauty and all that has changed in the mere speck of time that man has inhabited her, makes one sad. |

Marge, many thanks for the resizing. I was toying with images before i posted, trying to find one that wasn't too big. I think the resolution comes out much better, resized, don't you? Sharper colors, better lines: kinda like how a 13 inch TV has a better picture than larger ones. Feel free to let me know if they get too big in the future, and i do appreciate the link . I don't really have a place to post my pictures to source from, but now that i have DSL, they gave me a mini-web site free. Most of the time i spend on here, i am working in some way or another, writing. Thanks again, Marge. You got my wheels spinning! Look out world! jeff |

Hi Bill! That one line from the Freddy Fender classic stuck in my mind, and the poem was written in reverse, from that line. It had a totally different image for me, but i think it worked ok. Hope you are doin' good, and thankx, Bill, i value your opin greatly. jeff Marsha-Style: your writing has been awesome lately! Between you and Martie, i hardly have the spiritual energy left to read others. (but i do...*s*) Sweet gal, i really you appreciate your time-outs to read my headache poetry. That is waaaay cool of you. Give the Mushettes our love and thank you! jeff |

Mag: it is a pity, beyond words, i agree. Never understood how people fail to appreciate the complexity turned simple of nature, and the natural beauty, perhaps the ONLY true natural wonder left in the world: the world itself. Noah it is eerie, Dude, how you so often pick my mind and know exactly what i was writing about. Dulcy thought it was about thunderstorms, which partly it is, but you pegged it in perfect paraphrase. You are an amazing man, Noah. Thankx to both of you, VVVVVM (very very etc. much) jeff |

I love this poem, Jeff... It says so very much to me... Mankind has done so very much in the way of progress, but everything we do, pollutes the natural environment with which we were blessed. Sometimes, I think we are our own worst enemy. Thanks for sharing this with us. ~ hugs for a cleaner earth Lyra |

This is just a fantastic peice. I especially like the last verse: "they cannot best her so she sits unseen in the clouds until Her next teardrop falls" I have long believed that if we do not wake up and start taking care of this beautiful earth, SHE will one day TAKE CARE of us. I doubt we'll like the way she does it either.. After all she was here long before we were. peace, love, light and happiness Tammy |

they cannot best her so she sits unseen in the clouds until Her next teardrop falls I agree with Tammy. The ending (and the entire poem) was just outstanding. This, as well as all your others, as always, left me in awe of your talent with words. Loved this one!! |
