when I read
the words he writes
I feel quiet
in my mind
as though
I were
behind the screen
watching movies
of his life
through his eyes
afraid to move
or even breathe
for fear
I'll cast a shadow
adulterate
contaminate
the beauty
of the vision
that he portrays--
letter by letter...

This is a bit different than what I am used to reading from you, Karen...
