Journey There is beauty in the process of growing old There in lies the richness of life's breath Silver crown and snow white flocks mirrored minutes spent With measured steps we take our time having learned the pleasure to arrive Each morning to open our eyes knowing one day there will be no more To bask in the sounds of a child's laughing, a dog barking how the cycle continues finding comfort in that joy We are on this journey, you and I The vessel is full, together we arrive And when from experience our flesh and blood is tempered together we will leave C2001SimplyGold |

There is beauty in the process of growing old There in lies the richness of life's breath Silver crown and snow white flocks mirrored minutes spent This is so very beautiful, Electra... Would you mind if I sent it to my mother? She is 87 yrs old and all she talks about is how horrible it is to get old, and I keep telling her that she is lucky...she is privileged... ~ very late nite hugs Lyra |

Lyra, certainly not. I would be honored that you would send this to her. Hugs, Electra [This message has been edited by SimplyGold (08-25-2002 09:00 AM).] |

This is a very beautiful perspective of growing old. Many times the young would not learn the treasures of the past had it not been for a grandparent or other older loved one. I know growing up, I was bored with history in school, but am fascinated with the history my grandparents can tell. Dawn |
