Expectation Each season gratifies the eyes and ears With newness to the rhythms of the earth A child sips the cup of future years A mother, the esteem of coming birth All seasons have a beauty of their own Each change anticipated with delight A flower sips the cup of rising sun And gives no heed to passing of the night Upon a new horizon eyes engage To seek that special dream we’ve held within We sip the golden chalice of each age With expectations pouring from the brim But oh, how life so swiftly turns the page How fast upon us comes the winter wind Elizabeth Santos [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (08-23-2002 09:31 AM).] |

They say that Winter is the cruelest. But, I think that they need to look again. Thank you. What light through yon window breaks? It is the east, and Juliet is the sun. |

(big hugggssssss) Oh Elizabeth, this is so very true, sweet friend, life indeed passes us by so very quickly yet if we live up to each moment we will find true joy! (kiss on cheek) This is superb, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Elizabeth, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! '...But oh, how life so swiftly turns the page How fast upon us comes the winter wind' Hmmm, Elizabeth...I was trying to explain this concept to my 22 year old just this morning. Life begins to fly by and the older we get the quicker is moves. But at 22, this is not something to be understood. May I have your permission to send him a copy of your poem? Thank you, Marti |
