Solitarius

Stand alone, shining gold glint pure

sol

a monetary unit
fifth tone of the diatonic scale
a colloidal dispersion in a liquid

my initial intent to study upon this word
was to find its origin

instead I found a hermit, a recluse, if you would,

one alone

standing, tow headed in the light, perhaps,
a singly unique person playing
a game for one

and then I saw

tarius

so alone I went,
searching, searching, what other word
ends in

tarius

then…I smiled…

I…, rather,
this bit of sign that waited for me,
then dawned upon my birth

is the only other anglicized word that ends in
tarius…

stands alone,
bow in hand,
single arrow
finding its mark
bull’s eye

a winner.

One.

Alone.
