I love the feel of sand Just where the ocean meets the land, And shifts the gritty feeling Under you as you stand With a salty nose your senses reeling, Roaring surf makes a noisy silence, As gulls go sandwich stealing, And children do the hot sand dance, As I stand in foam ankle deep And the sand between my toes seep I watch the dolphins in the ocean play Coming close then they drift away. I dip my toes in the water when I can I’d stay on the beach all the day In the mixing zone of surf and sand. P. |

Then you need a better place to dip them, nothing nicer than the salty breeze in your hair and the surf playing on your toes. You do have hair don’t you? P. |

Hairy Toes, are they big too? gray is alright, my daddy is getting gray so I don’t complain about the color. Nice people have gray hair, but nice people can have no hair too. |

Oh, there’s nothing like it, I’m lucky to live close enough to walk to the beach, I spend all my extra time down there, which is never enough. |

I'm sitting here barefoot at the computer and I love everything about the trip to the beach you've included so masterfully here. The only nit I would pick is the line: And the sand between my toes seep I would say "sands" so your subj/predicate would agree and you could still keep your exact rhyme. Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

I’m terrible with those sort of things, I guess you are right, but I’m just happy to get all the words spelled ok. I did get them spelt write didn’t eye, I used a spell checker on it. I like to toe in a line in the sand every chance I get. |

I love the feeling where you walk right on the edge of the surf -- the way the sand is sort of smooth and joined like glass, but easy to break through -- to sink into. If that makes sense. |
