I will miss
the way you looked at me
when I was
who you loved

I will miss
the nicknames
laughing in bars
your being my poetry

I will miss
talking on the phone
even though it still
made me nervous

I will miss
coming home
and finding
you waited up

I will miss
taking finger from lips
and touching
your picture

I will miss
telling you goodnight
good morning
and about my day

I will miss
holding the key
to the most loving heart
I’ve ever known

I will miss
the perfect days
awkward moments
and a half dozen good-byes

I will miss
every moment
of every
heartbeat shared

Thank you
for the best parade
ever

I will miss…
you.

Still, what had been shared, would not
ever allow winter's regret to set in.

Janet Marie

Yes, I knew her well - she was a very special person indeed. Of course, i never met her, but that's besides the point, isn't it.

D - you sum up much in this, touching on but a few of the myriad of things that comprise a person and a relationship. In every one, you've touched me with remembrance and association. I just hope that someday we can learn to miss only the missing, eh?

Peace,

C

Duncan, you did a very good job of describing how it feels to lose someone. I hope you have found a "forever love" now. You have a loving spirit and it shows in your work. Thanks for sharing.

but as always, does it with sincerety and class.

heart-hugs dunc ...
*tis not easy being a moth*
*sigh*

In the space between now and then
I lost the fire, lost a friend
and Ill never be the same again
Still, I believe in the innocence
we gave away.

I'm very moved D.

Sigh...amazing isn't it - trying to narrow the pain into the columns on the screen, or on the page...it just funnels the pain somewhere else until it comes near again...

hugs to you
