If I Could Hold You I cannot know the breath of you, the scent of hair, the brush of cheek,] embrace, so close, our heartbeats touch, but how, I would so like to seek. The words we share, in private, keep. I’m your desire, as you are mine. We both are cowards, live in hope that one of us will give a sign. If truth be known, the signs are there, but deeper love we cannot know. You are not single, nor am I. Let’s simply watch our friendship grow. I’ll fantasize, I‘m sure you will. It’s only natural to do. Another life, another time, I know how deeply I’d love you. For now, my love is held in chains, but never doubt how real it is. If I could hold you in my arms, I think I’d drown within your kiss. |
