Trust not this pen today it anticipates the rain
it may drain or sway in melancholic pain,
there's time to turn away for I fear if you remain
that a pallid gray your kinder soul obtain.

You ask "why would you write if your mood is so severe
it would incite the lighter reader to a tear?"
Your questioning's quite right for to bleed here is a smear
and so stain a site of gentler atmosphere.

You see I can't resist, anonymity's a priest
it's in this mist my depression is released,
shake an angry fist, go 'head and color me a beast
or to a blacklist unread as though deceased.

"We can't cease your maddened pen but why here would you post
a tragidienne, words viewed on every coast?"
Explain why wetted hen lands on pillory the most
it will be then to your brilliance I will toast.

My goodness!! This is an awesome write. I guess my soul must wear a suit of armour, as I don't think it has turned from pink to gray after reading this. lol. Enjoyed. Chris

I am speechless. In the presence of a master poet. I HOPE that is not an insult. (I had to hit print and read it in black and white to get the full meaning.) Doesn't show well on my screen for some reason.
I can only thank you for sharing your poetry with us. A treat.

Warm Regards,

Richard, you wrote......

"You ask  why would you write if your mood is so severe"

and

"You see I can't resist, anonymity's a priest
it's in this mist my depression is released"

Well, that's the answer to the whole thing. When I get depressed, instead of wanting to hole up in a closet, I'm much better off if I will be with people or with a pen and paper. You chose both. You posted a beatifully written poem where many, many people are. Thanks for sharing with us, Richard. This was very good.

Love To All,
