Who’ll read the rose colored dust
Of words settling slowly now
On pages of white,
Perhaps
For the last time
Or the first of next?

I do not presume to know
Any answer beyond
Sunset of this verse
Still it is fatigued
As is the day
And needs rest
Upon pillowed thought
To encase Medusa heads
And Herculean effort
To sever them from
A body of work.

All days are numbered
So we can paint between lines
Shading first one
Then another color
To complete an image
Others might understand.

These shadings of mine
Have now run
And numbers have
Come un-done
And I must by needs
Of sanity
Deny dusty rose
And embrace
No more the pages
Of this portfolio

I’ll miss it here
As I missed for years
The touch of tender
And will always wonder
Who will read the rose colored dust
Of words?

I think I really do understand Ron...

forgive me though, if I have an occasional selfish temper tantrum.

You ARE an inspiration.

El dado de las palabras, poetas no.

Gracias.

This reminds me of the Cure.
In that, every album,
Robert Smith claims it is the last.
Their last album, Bloodflowers,
was a song cycle about leaving,
growing away.

And yet, a new album is in the works.

Enjoyed the thoughts in this, Ron.

"Mis palabras son muertas"---No es verdad!

Sing not the song of swan
Take flight with words on high
Give rise to pearls of wisdom
Upon these wings all wish to fly

(smiles) And we will always be here to read through the afterglow of the rose-colored dust you spread across these pages! (big hugggsssss) Always paint in-between the lines as there is much color waiting to be revealed, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ron, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Who will read the rose colored dust
Of words?

"I will" said the moth.

Seems to me, a very real and heartfelt goodbye to writing? PiP? us?

If this be so, I'll say that it was a pleasure to make your aquaintance.

I, for one, will miss your musings. They are....well, they strike a chord with me.

Others, who have known you longer, better, will be quite saddened.

If this is (and I hate to say this) merely a rueful speculation, then I have (happily) misread this.

In either case, this is a singular work. It stands alone, even in the midst of your best.

Friend,
Ed
