The Hermit Quite safely in his fortress - hiding from the worldly pain - The hermit looks upon mankind and shakes his head in shame. He wonders how he came to be the recluse he is now, A man who left the world behind to find his peace somehow. "They call me strange, they call me weird, but I am satisfied With everything I learned thus far, life kept me occupied. I lived my life at fullest - I've known happiness and pain - I walked in brightest sunshine and I conquered heavy rain. But now I feel compelled to speak some words to humankind, 'Cause something has gone wrong with us - this world is most unkind! How come some live in carton boxes out there on the street? And why can't people see they're suffocating with their greed? Too few still care for human kind - too many lie and steal And many children in despair just need our love to heal. Our hearts are filled with gloominess, instead of joy and pride, But we can change this if you like - no longer run and hide. Respect and kindness are the keys to make the darkness run; To aim a smile at people so much better than a gun. A sandwich shared much tastier than dinner on your own; With love and laughter in your heart you'll never walk alone. The stars shine like a beacon bright, a guide for all to see, From up above, a dazzling light, awaiting you and me; And yet two sparks don't make a flame, but we can surely try, By joining hands and reaching out - illuminate the sky!" Quite safely in his fortress - hiding from the worldly pain - The hermit looks upon mankind and shakes his head in shame. Munda, this is such a good work . I can tell it's coming from your heart. That makes it more special to me. I wish that more people in our world would not only SEE these situations, but would all "JOIN HANDS" to make an effort to do something to make things better. Thanks for sharing your heart. I too admire all those who step up and do the best they can for the less fortunate amidst a cruel society filled with so many homeless and deprived!
