Time is Such a Challenge!

tick tock
dickory dock
click clock
slippery stock
day trading
on the floor
above the din
of market’s roar
world ‘round
a nervous clown
watching lines
up and down
man running
futile leaps
bird’s-of-paradise
chortle, cheep
as dreams
fade and dim
and time
edge’s thin
for those
gambling with hours
of pay
betting on
no rainy days
and life spins
in rapid pace
like tissue roll
that fell from grace
for speedier
does it go
when t’ward the end
flies the flow

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
