The clouds In formation Migrated south This morning. Advance guard perhaps To the gales of winter They surveyed the Half sleeved denizens And reported them Ill prepared For siege I watched As they trailed the wind That whistled again So they might know What direction to follow And thought of Another chill season Spent in cold sheets Un-warmed by close Radiating 300 count chillblains When naked skin Meets their white plane. I used to enjoy Fall. But then again I used to be with you. [This message has been edited by Cpat Hair (10-08-2002 06:41 PM).] |

It always seems the cold of the turn brings out the once warm thoughts of yesterday... and the reading just begins again... |

Wonderful writing and not at all what I expected. I hope you find someone soon to warm you and your cold sheets. Hugs, Marti Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. |

yes, a powerful write, vivid with a sharp ending that struck this reader between the breastplate and the spine upon reading the tilte...I was certain it would be a 'season' poem, it did address two kinds of seasons, too but the playful part of me, the poet, also thought of Robert, the preliminary to Frost, Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

Everything does seem sweeter when it is experienced with someone we love and who loves us in return. May your next autumn be a sweet and joyous one! Fine piece of writing! Linda |
