Wake up little sleepy head!
Another day is new!
And there's so very much
For you to see and do!
You can run through the meadow
Just chasing butterflies,
Or gaze at fluffy clouds
In the blue summer skies.
You can pick wild flowers
Or climb a willow tree,
There's so much in this world
For you to do and see!
You can play hide-and-seek
With your friend next door,
Or build a sand castle
And picnic at the shore!
So, don't just laze around
And let life pass you by,
You can do anything,
But first you've got to try!
Wake up little sleepyhead!
Another day is new!
And there's so very much
For you to see and do!

Loner--

Hi! Haven't seen you around lately! Hope things are well with you!

I'm glad that you enjoyed one of the poems I wrote for my daughters when they were younger!

Soon you begin to realize that "I don't want to" is the world's greatest reason.......But I DID want to read your fine poem?

Yes, my sweet sleepyheaded Interloper! You must get out of bed and play with me! (Note that I said "out of" not "in to"! tehe)

Pleased that you "loved" it!

P.S. We could play under the rainbow!

Okay, sweet little sleepy toe-head, you can stay in bed all day, but it would have been a lot more fun if you were to come outside and play with me!

Naw, think I'd rather just lounge around if you don't mind. Feeling lazy and melancholy today. Thanks for the invite though, perhaps tomorrow.

Marti, you deserve a quiet, down-time sort of day. (Only the melancholy part doesn't sound too wonderful?!?)

If you're up for it tomorrow, you're on!

I woke you up? Well I'm sorry about that! From the time of your posting, I see you should actually be going to bed, not going outside to play---maybe tomorrow when the sun is up instead of the moon! Altho' it can be fun playing under the moon---as you so often eloquently write!

Sweet dreams! See you bright and early! Don't forget your pail to make some sand castles!

very sweet....*sigh*..reminds of when i got to stay at home with my little girl...now she's 4 and she thinks she's grown, so all she wants to do is watch disney movies or cartoons when we both get to stay home....

oh well..i can remember....i guess none of it is 'new' to her anymore...how quickly they grow...

g--

Thank you for sharing that little story about your daughter! Yes, they do grow up so quickly. I feel so blessed that I was able to be a stay-at-home mom until my daughters were 6 and 4. I was such a molly-homemaker! I loved it!

We did everything together. They were so playful and imaginative! I miss those days!--although we're still very close and the three of us are like best friends, it's different--in some ways it's even better!

Yes, much truth here.  I loved this, a very sweet poem.

Auguste--

You strike me as the kind of man who gets out there and plays the game of life with all of your might!

P.S. It's okay to be a sleepyhead once in awhile!  I love to linger in bed on a stormy morning with the howling winds raging outside and the rain pelting against  the window panes.

Thanks for dropping by
And thanks for the sweet reply!
