This may be a repost(?), regardless, it remains one of my favorites and is dedicated to all here who have seen me more naked than anyone outside of this site Naked See me here I stand before you All my faults Now in clear view Watch me now As walls are falling Mortar’s crumbling Bricks are too See the mask Of ivory porcelain Thrown aside Cast to the ground Tears once dammed Are freely flowing As my world Falls all around Watch my past Pour out in mirrors Kiss my eyes To ebb the flow Hold me now Here in the halflight As trembling to My knees I go Listen to the Words I’m saying From tongue once mute Now truth is spilled Sense my fear As I am striping Each item shed Shows more revealed Piece by piece It’s molt before you There’s nothing sacred There’s nothing lost No more lies No more disguises A new lease Love’s paid the cost Whisper to me My deaf ears hearing With your words They’re opened wide I’m stumbling now But I’m not fearing Because you’re standing By my side Look at all These imperfections Feel the scars I once had loathed As here I stand Now bared before you See me naked Though fully clothed [This message has been edited by hoot_owl_rn (08-20-2002 09:53 AM).] |

It's called losing the veils, and this, my girl, you have done very well... I do believe I remember this one, Ruth... because it told me how honest one can be in their writing... and down go the walls... |

Oh I just love this one, Ruth... This is so true, our feelings really are stripped naked here... I guess we could call it a nudist colony of the minds... ~hugs from a bare chipmunk Lyra |

Well Ruth as you know you and I built the same walls, and I must say you are much better at making them crumble than I. Girl, it is so good to see you naked or otherwise, you have no idea how much I have missed you both here and "there". This was fantastic Ruth, and I have no kept this to read over and perhaps get those last few rows of bricks down The most valuable thing you own is a smile, wear it, and share it. |

(big huggssssssss) Oh Ruth, I'm so happy this is a feeling of the past, this is by far one of your best I agree too and may all those scars be healed with compassion and faith! (sigh) This is powerful, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ruth, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

"I’m stumbling now But I’m not fearing Because you’re standing By my side" Ah Ruth ... so lovely to read you, my friend! A wonderful metaphor ... I could feel the bricks coming down ... the vulnerability, the exposure, the openness ... and yet ... the hope of fresh beginnings and the honesty this captured. Beautifully written! Best wishes, /Kit |

Ruth, it's good to read this again...I think that I have it saved in my library?! I agree that this is one of your best, you use this metaphor to perfection with honesty, and a softness. Take care, Melissa~ "Poetry is not an opinion expressed... |

This is powerful and excellent, hoot. *S* We read so many poems of rising from the ashes... many of us have lovingly watched as you've done just that... and what we see is absolutely beautiful. *S* (Even if Toe is a bit disppointed at the clothing. *G*) |

see how you are...ya come on my poem and mention Oatmeal and then run naked in the forums... you are a hoot All teasing aside..yes...we can be the most honest in our poetry as it gives us a voice that we might not otherwise be able to express... Your poetic honesty has many times touched me. Good to have you back on the blue pages Ruth girlie In the space between now and then |

Ruth, I just went into my library to look this up and enjoy it again, it holds so much beauty in it. I couldn't find it so....back up to the top and this time into the library..I am glad it didn't slip so far away that I couldn't find it. Tis truly beautiful. If I have touched one heart through my words, then I have acheived my dream... |
