Has it ever been before, the fragile footsteps echo?
For the places slipping out beneath the drift of lost
By the time familiar, in the scope of yesterday, placed to go
In the feeling of a long forgotten dream, a golden coin is tossed

Has it ever been before, the frail longing chimed to call ahead?
For the faces kept in memories, out of breath to rest
By the side of dreams prolonging every promise ever said
In the founding of a spirit guided forward, without ending to be blessed

Has it ever been before, the songs of strangers kept closer to the ear?
For the traces of another day, to glisten in moment to moment find
By the way as many listens spent in wonder, as heartaches spent in fear
In the finding of tomorrow, roams the heart to seek a certain dream in kind

a powerful piece, but this line...a WOWSER!!!!:

Has it ever been before, the songs of strangers kept closer to the ear?

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

It is the finding of the past
that we can remember the future.
Sometimes i think we learn from the present,
and apply it to the past.  Some say we learn more from our mistakes.  Perhaps so.  Too many
times the present zooms by before we can alter it.  It is later:  when there is time for reflection, that past lessons are remembered.
