There is No Winning
~ By Sue ~

My heart is filled with many tears
Each time I start thinking of you
Not knowing what I did so wrong
I really do not have a clue

In my heart I felt we were meant to be
There were feelings I had inside
Feelings I never even felt before
I never would have left your side

The one thing I was not willing to do
Was to compete for you with your drinking
Because I already knew
Against alcohol there is no winning

To watch you drink yourself to death
Is more than I can stand to do
Knowing you are taking medication
Is so hard, because I love you

Sue, YOU did nothing wrong! Alcoholism is a sickness. It is not caused by something you said or did.

I really encourage you to go to AlAnon.

Hugs to you, Marti

It appears to be a very difficult time in your life. I wish I could wave a magic wand so that yours pains and troubles could just disappear.

You have a wonderful way with words that pulls your reader into experiencing your emotions(albeit it not to the point you do!)

Take care sweet Sue

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Sue, my heart goes out to you, sweet friend, I know how hard it must be for you right now and I wish I too could cast a magic spell and make it all go away, but know none of it was your fault, it is all in ones own willpower to either resist or drink alcohol and it is his own obstacle he'll have to learn to surmount, which I pray he can do soon! (sigh) I am always here for you, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sue, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Sue,
I'm not qualified to offer advice. But I do encourage you to find someone who is. You have such a good heart and deserve the best. Peace and courage to you.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Oh, dear Sue...there is winning. Through acceptance and surrender and understanding. But sometimes you do have to lose, before you learn how to win.  You can give in, but don't ever give up.  There is always hope.
Let Go, Let God.....and yes, try alanon...also, try a few open AA meetings and learn the pain these people go thr. trying to quit. It is a disease; As far as your writing. You did well, your words vividly portraying the pain of an alcoholic relationship.  You did good. God Bless

without surrender, be on good terms with all persons...
