The Trial You sat before us you proclaimed innocence The lawyers all gave their stories Information pointing in opposite directions Each said it was fact We sat there watching eager, naive to legal manuvering Caught inbetween deliberate ambiguity only wanting the truth Boarding on Kafa The trial comes to life right before our eyes We acknowledge this is the best system except for capricious accusations for which we have no penalty I see now, it can work both ways Leave out a word Don't ask the right question This burden is great I listen closely our system depends on it And so you looked at us Each counslor made the case Each said it was the truth Both wanted justice Our arms were heavy as we weighed in the evidence Twelve minds seeking probity Hoping the "thief in the night" would be tranparent But, it is not that simple Relying on the evidence and in the end trusting common sense We pray for sound judgement c2002SimplyGold [This message has been edited by SimplyGold (10-01-2002 09:18 PM).] |

(tears fall down my cheeks) This is so very true and saddening, sweet friend, it seems the truth is always being hidden selfishly and in result so many innocent people are harmed and even killed each year by the wrongful accusations by capital punishment which the system is so inept! (sad sigh) My heart goes out to all the innocent hurt by the guillotined truth, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

I have known several people who have been jurors and it can really wreak havoc with both your personal and professional lives. Because of the profession of my husband, now "was"band, I was relieved to know that I would never be called to perform this civic duty. You did a wonderful job at recreating what it was like for you as a juror. Have a great day! EA |

I've only had to serve on a jury once and can relate to this very well. When all is said and done the evidence has to be weighed. Well done! |

An excellent write, Electra... I know that everyone always complains about jury duty... but I have never had the pleasure... The only time I was summoned for it, the parties settled out of court and we were released before there was a trial... I honestly wouldn't mind sitting on a jury... I think it would be fascinating. ~ hugs from the neighborhood garden pest Lyra |
