Would It Be Ok To Say….I Love You

you were a blond haired tender tease
I gladly gave you my heart with ease
you gave me such love nowhere else I would ever know
all the things in your heart you freely show
always said what ever was on your mind
gave without reservation my attention and most of my time
you are the pages of a lifetime journal
a light that flows through a dark eternal
once gave me the gift of a robin’s egg
perfume, pearls and things with legs
and all the best I could ever be
you are half of what is good in me
you took my life and turned it around
when I think I am lost I look at you and know I am found
you took a life that could have been simple and quiet
to a world that exploded to color and a happiness riot
you are one of the best things that have touched this earth
and I am blessed for I was the one chosen to give you birth

Happy 21st Birthday Michael  I love you …MOM

Helen

What a wonderful poem!  I wrote one like this for each of my sons...when they came to a certain point that I felt was grown up.  This took me back to that time with its touching and tender message.  There is nothing as special as a mother's love...unless, of course it's a sons.

Helen,
21! NO WAY! You must have been a baby having a baby. Congratulations. You are a wonderful mother and you give such fine gifts. Well done...Mom.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
