Need to request, carve a tone in words
string them like beads on chains...
into synchrony..or fall into cacophony..
audible..audacious...even painful to some.
their memory does not easily come.

To my many selves...one is the most lucid
or am I the fool
in the public eye a tortured extreme
of conflicted wants..and twisted means
subject to psychriatric taunts
even greater if one face flaunts
pre-edited contexts...hideous acts exclaimed..
in dissonance or ordered statement of the day
to an unseen predator my ears fall prey
shrouded voices are in constant range
and a constant self
remains on the shelf
awaiting the next curious clinician
to see how authentic is my multiple mission.

Multiples are impossible to separate cleanly. Maybe they were never meant to be dissected, but rather re-blended?
A very interesting write, Martin.

Hi Midnite,

and as one clinicain states..after over half a century of work he has yet to see an 'authentic' multiple personality..that probably means why many shrinks still lump it with schizophrenia.

Midnite..

good point... I think that's what the author suggested in his  book that the many selves
come to some sort of reconciliation so that they blend in a whole

Years ago, I worked with schizophrenics and at least one diagnosed multiple in residential treatment center. It always seemed preferable to me to help re-unite the individual's extremes, thereby giving that  fragmented soul a chance to function more connectedly on a daily basis.
