Artwork of Life
By Larry Chadwick

When life tattoos you without notice,
Is it done with permanent ink?
Does it matter how you feel,
Or even what you really think?

Can it make you what you’re not,
Your response against your will?
Or do you chose to forge your mind,
Resisting the easy way even still?

If it tattoos you once again,
And the ink is poisoned lead;
Will it force you to concede,
And fill your heart with dread?

Or can you make a better mark,
By not flinching from the pain?
Let the artist do his work,
And by patience take the gain.

Then from what you have not chosen,
Comes much more than you would seek.
Pain has conferred upon you wisdom,
And has taught you to be meek.

Yes it has...the tattoo is indelible ink, BUT one can choose to allow it to build character and strength, if the lessons are learned at the time and not to be repeat tests for the same flaws...I really really felt your message in this piece of art. I expect that you meant for it to stike a deep chord..You succeded...
a most excellent write!

Your palette of life has indeed been full, some colors not of your choosing. But the final picture is always a beautiful blend.
BRAVO! May I hang this one up on my wall, next to my other masters of inspiration?

Larry - very saying write. I believe that one has to forge there way, regardless of the tatoo's that always strike when on least expects it. At times it very tough to do, but time will never wait for anyone or anything, so my thoughts are to flow with it....

(big hugggssssss) Oh Larry, I understand the tears you feel and though some of these memories may always haunt you and be tattooed in your heart, know they will always love you with all their heart and they never will truly leave you as love is a tattoo that can overshadow any other kind of ink! (sigh) Always keep engraving loves special moments, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Larry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Kacy,
Certainly has been and certainly you can!

Bill,
My thought is not to make excuses out of life. We're are still responsible for our behavior and choices. And thanks.

Linda,
Thank you. Maybe I should get my own tattoo.

Sue,
All is well. Spent two months thinking about this concept and it finally came together. Thanks.

Chris,
Thank you so very much! Bless you.

Noah,
This one was about dignity and control. *smile* And thank you for always reading and being so kind. (((hugs)))

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
