Now What

It is a long way from where there was
The birds have long since come and gone
The seeds that traveled on my clothes
have been born again they're generations old
The seasons have been many, never the same
  though they repeat often
Each change I lived never knowing
  now here I am
My badge of occupation has been stripped away
I am left now to reinvent myself
Do I eat to work or work to eat
I must decide who I am
Perhaps an opportunity to awaken
if fear does not overtake me
Be not hasty I say to myself,
take this time to breath the sweet air
take notice of the sun
  You will survive
I tell myself
You are not defined by what you do
It is who you are
And who is that, I ask
I hear nothing
  only the wind responds

Change and searching for definition, scary, yet freeing too.  I think you are a poet, because of these words you have written here.  You could start there.  My best to you!

Thank you Marti

Your words mean alot to me at this time. I am passing through the pain of change, drifting. I know it is a matter of time before I come out the other side. Thank you for giving me a starting point.

SimplyGold---I've missed you and your poetry!

Sounds like you have been going through a very tough time, but as you know:

"When the going gets tough, the tough get going!"

You will make it through this time of trials and tribulations. I have had my share of gawd awful experiences in my life, I mean GAWD AWFUL---and somehow I get through them and the sun shines even more brightly---until the next thundercloud sits on top of my little world----but then the rain washes away all the debris in my life and the sun comes out again! Each time, a thundercloud comes, I'm that much stronger and I can banish those clouds away rather quickly now. Please hang in there! As I've told you before, I think you are simply golden!

~ smiles and a little hug for you ~

Changes is inevitable, if you are a living breathing entity. And you definitiely qualify.
Hang in there and morph without fear.

Earth Angel,

So good to hear from you. I have been away yes, and I am hungry for the words and wisdom of your writing along with everyone else that I am hooked on here.

You give me spirit and I'm grateful.

Sincerely,

Midnitesun,

For the moment I'm breathing and chuckling
at your comment. Yes, I'm morphing, I wonder do butterflies feel this way too?

Thanks

This is a question that is never ending and all ask themselves, this is the question that defines life and what you do in it.  It will come to you through time and persistance.  Good write.
