The sculpture takes form Starting at the crown of her head Down her face ever so soft To the neck, fingers are led Then shoulders around and down The length of arms ‘til fingers interlace Then back up carefully all the way To slowly in outline trace Examine in great detail Every square, wonder-filled inch With warm working hands A caress here, pressure there, just a pinch Down the chest continuing again Extra attention on the back now To shape and to form To get it right somehow Sliding down and around The most tender of waist Stopping for special work On that most special place The entire length of legs Up and down once, then twice Working with the right material Makes the progress nice The sculpture starts to take form As the hands work the feet A labor of love Never to be complete |
