across the street
stands a tree
it’s been there many years now
one side living, limbs filled with leafy branches
the other side dead, barren of leaves

today
two crows
sat upon the barren branches
debating the fate of the world
clinging to lifeless limbs
cawing their distaste
of the state
of their environment

black crows
ravens in appearance
symbols of death
clamored their feelings
for all to hear
claiming a notoriety
of darkness, evil

could they be as senator
and leader
prevaricating or unmasking
the truth of their aims

their claims
for action, attack,
or for taking it all back
and going home
carrying wisdom
in their pockets
or brains

who might win
the debate of our fate
as the world
attempts to crumble
around like a pillar of salt
battling a storm in its greatest fury

A very clever and effective use of metaphor and important food for thought.---and yes, indeed,..."Who might win the debate of our fate"...It's so scary!

VAS,
I like the probing questions this leaves.
I also like that it reminds me of wranx's
Twa Corbies.

C'mon, baby, c'mon darling,
Let me steal this moment from you now.
C'mon, angel, c'mon, c'mon, darling,
Let's exchange the experience.

(big hugggssssss) Oh Virginia, it is so scary and eerie to me too, it seems when you feel you have let go of fate it always seems to be reminded again somehow like that! (sigh) This is hauntingly wonderful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Virginia, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
