My thoughts have slipped to the past When my life and loves were young Before everything began moving so fast And my heart song was slowly sung The days my babies came one by one Sticky fingers, runny nose, nightmare At the time my days were never done What one has the others had to share Then we worked hard lived payday to payday We planted, harvested, canned, preserved Let down hems, recycled you might say Never expecting more than we deserved No money for vacation on ship or plane We took up camping in tent with lots of gear Taking kids and pets, thank heaven no Great Dane Roughing it we had fun,a week without a mirror Today half is spent going to and from The rest at something not that fulfilling Worry, pressure, family things still to come Knowing no matter what, happiness still missing My thoughts are still in the past I remember I long to be with those around the campfire It could just be the sights and smells of September But for my past I have the desire |

It's real easy to go buy a tent. But, that's not what you are saying. Can I suggest that you give your TV to charity? Ok, I'll shut up now. I enjoyed this. Kinda reminded me of when my kids were little and we would take them on camping trips. My daughter hated peeling spuds. She would take hours, so, I would set her the task at around midday so that they would be ready before midnight. lol I guess one becomes content with one’s poetry when one opens the book ten years hence and does NOT exclaim, “Did I really write this?” |

(big hugggssssss) And I wish for these special times to continue to come to you and for your loved ones to be with you around that glowing campfire! (sigh) This is touching, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Paddy, our kids did alot of pumping water for us and the other campers. And we have a daughter who walked miles to dry one dish. Aren't memories great! Noah, thank you and we are getting grand and great grand kids to help with the camp fires. |

It would seem that there is much to be learned in the fires of September. Thank you. What light through yon window breaks? It is the east, and Juliet is the sun. |
