Feeding The Fire

For so long we both breathed friendly
But, now I just can't believe you are gone
Time way too short in the eyes of the skies
And, my will for sacrifice keeps moving me on...

I find memories out of the blue that stone me
And, I keep feeding the fire to your being away
Thinking if the skies agreed in what I surely did
You never would have been taken away...

I come across moments that I just can't let be
So, I add them to the fire burning without you near
Adding more moments to keep it ever going
Trying to hold a part of you even closer here...

Tenderly grasping at what my mind flows forth
Eagerly wanting what was for safe keeping inside
Before you know it I've captured a million more memories to hold
And, you should see the fire how high...

For, in silence it brings me to what you were about
Kindness in streams like the waters through our lands
And, each time I dive into the waters for comfort
I feed the fire straight from my hands...

We breathed friendly but the time wasn't long enough
Because I'm losing everything when you built me up
I've got another moment to add to that place
Feeding the fire to your disappearance but finding your face...

In it goes are the full remains of collected thoughts
Feeling as I feed the flames everything I'm not
But, I can keep it going with all I have from you
And, the fire of the memories will just keep burning through...
