You speak into the mirror and yet It will not reply, for you are voiceless as the rest. Your tongue's tied to reigns, of a monologue censored again. You salute into the mirror and yet it will not submit, to you a hollowed uniform regret. Your dormant house of silence, blitz the night and fog in violence The horrors of Auschwitz were televised today children now occupy the Nazi play. ------------------------ "No life underground - wasting, never changing Wishing that this day won't last To never see you show your age To watch until the beauty fades" no love lost - ian curtis Too early for the rainbow, too early for the dove These are the final days, this is the darkness, this is the flood L cohen [This message has been edited by brian madden (09-22-2002 12:29 PM).] |

Nice flow. I'm not sure I get the meaning of it all, but it's still a good write! Hey dog, did you see the size of that chicken!? |

I am trying to tie in the images here with the emotion, and what's meshing in my mind is probably NOT your intent--but I have this analogy going on of maturity of a militant idealism that in retrospect, horrifies even the persona of the poem. hmmm....probably not what you intended, but chuckling, I find the idea intriguing anyhow! One of these days (er...nights?) you and I are going pub hopping...I'd love to kick a few ideas around with you, (while I drink you under the table!--er..don't doubt me m'friend! ) made me look, then made me think! |

I like this poem, it really conveys the feeling of being alone and lost in a way. My poetry website is: http://www.geocities.com/han_tigger/HannahInglis.html Hannah. |

Reminds me, strangely, of the Sex Pistols convoluted/complicated/messy/intense track Holidays in the Sun. "I'm gonna go, I'm gonna go under the Berlin Wall." |

Karen, that was a large part of it yes.I hold you to the pub hopping promise ok. Thanking you for taking the time to look and think Fuzzy, looks like i am causing everything to think. the nerve of me to try a trick like that. From now on no thought provoking poetry from me lol JulieAnn, your muse AWOL too. damn they all seem to be on strike. THanks for replying. Hannah, thank you. Mike, I was going for a Dylan Thomas and a bit of Ian Curtis vibe with the militant imagery.. but I will settle for Johny (rotten) Lydon. Thanks for thoughts. "I don't know what I want but I know how to get it..Anarachy in the UK" sex pistols.
