Edgy, adj, 1. sharp-edged; sharply defined, as outlines. 2. nervously irritable; impatient and anxious. The edge lets you know when you've arrived, the step beyond is a chasm press on and get cut, toes when touching skirt it or dive in. Edge is a border, whites who couldn't afford to perceive its advance, blacks seeking to upgrade. Either way a danger zone. It's a false step on compacted snow, swift and frigid avalanche. It's the parched lips of a cracked and weary earth splitting to a quake. Not the smooth wave of erosion stealing sand while playing music, it's the tail end of a polite conversation, where only eyes agree, to stop just shy of truth, decision leading to both fight and flight. "Happy people have no history" - French Proverb |

Some people seem to live on the edge as it's their comfort zone, and anything else would be uncomprehensible. Others, teeter there for as long as they can stand it, then simply fall. Others jump off and hope that something better is below. Here's to hope. I loved the metaphors in this one. Vous êtes manqués God Bless |

...it's the tail end of a polite conversation, where only eyes agree, to stop just shy of truth, ... and a good edge of a pie crust is just as flaky as people... don't even begin to ask where that came from, just know the poem was very filling... |

It's the parched lips of a cracked and weary earth splitting to a quake. Wonderful words you have written - makes one sit back and think awhile. Chris Life is not measured by breaths you take, but by moments that take your breath away. |
