We’re Alive

Self-pity
starves the heart of joy
with each taken breath.
It’s nothing but a form of living death.

So many times
you’ve come to me
to wipe your tears.
It has been years,
yet still you weep.

We all have fallen wounded
on the battlefields of life,
but we’re not dead.
Did you hear what I just said?

We did survive.
We are alive,
and now it’s time
to bury thoughts that once we mourned,
to be reborn,
for life goes on.

Many a time I have felt like the walking wounded, but that human spirit of which you speak, can prevent us from falling over and giving up in difficult times. This is a wonderful poem of great import.

Hi gentle man...well, how true is this?

Some people go through life kicking and screaming...and others even though they have many problems find a rainbow and dance their way through...I prefer the latter...and I know you do as well!!

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Michael, this is so very saddening, while I have had floods of tears fall from my eyes and so many bruises I had to salt up in my early life, I always trust in Him and I wish for everyone to follow their hearts and believe like Peter Pan dreams can come true for everyone!
