For S Are these mine, my Lady? The stars that adorn your face in moonlit sparkle, Are they mine to give, to take, to hold from your eyes? For indeed, I, who am but a poor poet at best, I long to have you once again in my arms As I did that first night of my finally looking upon your face Beneath your own full and wonderful creation. Are these mine, my Lady? The suns that reflect your eyes in daylight shine, Are they mine to know, to keep, to treasure from your heart? For indeed, I, who am but a simple man at best, I long to have you once again on my lips As I did that first night of my finally speaking your name out loud Across the black light of the sky that held you. Are these mine, my Lady? The planets that hold your spirit in earthlight flicker, Are they mine to hear, to see, to feel from your hands? For indeed, I, who am but a quiet lover at best, I long to have you once again by my side As I did that first night of my finally touching your soul Through the stellar veil of time and love. Are these mine, my Lady? The moons that keep your company in the light of life, Are they mine to sing, to write, to tell from my heart? For indeed, I, who am but a man, a lover, a poet at best, I long to have you once again in my life As I did that first night of my seeing, my speaking, my touching of you In the light of your face, in the Moonlight of our Love. What light through yon window breaks? It is the east, and Juliet is the sun. [This message has been edited by Moonlight Romeo (09-20-2002 02:10 PM).] |

"For indeed, I, who am but a man, a lover, a poet at best, I long to have you once again in my life As I did that first night of my seeing, my speaking, my touching of you In the light of your face, in the Moonlight of our Love." (smiles) Oh my gosh, I love this, sweet friend, and I know with a golden heart that glows with such sensitivity and warmth your love will always want to return to your light! (sigh) This is touching, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Romeo, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Yes, lovely, very romantic and as far as I know it constitues free verse. But then, I don't know the difference between free and blank verse so I guess I don't know which is which. Hope someone answers you that knows more than I. Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |
