There's weight
to pain of emptiness.
There is a hole within my chest.
Nothing--NO THING--else will do...
How can peace rage with restlessness?

"My God? My Goddess," (palms to sky)
"What is it that I did this time?"
Give to me a chance, lament,
allow me just one sweet penance...

I will be your shining star.
I'll take your pain.
I'll kiss your scars.
If there is drought?
I'll become rain.
And then I'll be
the sun again.
My arms will bow across the sky
in all the colors that I cried...

I promise you. I will be good.
Do all the things I swore I would--
but dance with me throughout the night,
and keep me still from my own fright.

I hope you are not reading this reply right now---you should be sleeping! You were up most of the night in a state of restlessness---but I for one, am happy that the restlessness gave rise to this exquisite piece of writing!

Dance around those moonlit trees again,
twirl and hug yourself
while chanting,

'I kiss the stars
and thank them
for my serenity.'

Karen,
Peace to you and serenity too.

You know, I could have sworn I replied to this. Apparently not. Perhaps I'm becoming delusional. *chases a flying purple elephant* Hmm. Let's not analyze that.

Sorry, I'm rambling again. Bad habit... And I'm doing it again.

I really enjoyed this poem, it was vivid, wonderful.

Wow... all that just to say I liked it. *mops sweat off brow*

Kielo

Now where did that elephant go?
