I was reading Emily Dickinson And found it hard to grasp I could not understand just why My brain was not up to the task Then I remembered a helpful hint That opened her poems to me The Yellow Rose of Texas Is what has worked for me Ive got an Arrow here Ample make this Bed When Roses cease to Bloom, Dear If anybody's Friend be Dead Her poems have become fun for me I can not tell a lie If not for the Yellow Rose of Texas Her poems I might not like |

It's just the simplest things that can sometimes be key to understanding... I loved this. I think Emily would have gotten quite a giggle out of it too, as no one appreciated HER while she was alive. Guess it would have helped if the song had been around earlier. ![]() Enjoyed. |

Emily Dickenson was quite the writer although at times yes, hard to understand....but then sometimes what each poet means is left up to the mind of the reader. Very well done. If I have touched one heart through my words, then I have acheived my dream... |

You used to find Emily Dickenson's work hard to understand, well I have to admit that some of the poetry here at PIP is so sophisticated, I can't get my little pea brain around it. I'll read some of them over and over trying to understand them. In fact, I've made replies that were so far out in left field, that I cringe to think about it! hehe ~ smiles ~ EA |
