Listening to every heart

0 posted 2002-09-17 08:54 PM

I am strained dry,
Harsh words crumpling reflection
The mirror should break
And not show so much empty…

If I gaze long enough
The bejeweled wings shall lift me
I shall carry my rainbows with me
Leaving the empty behind…

Karilea~
This really is beautiful.
I enjoyed the thought of flying away
and 'leaving the empty behind'.
Hugs to you, my friend.

Your broach is as lovely as the owner,
That is if it’s yours.
And the words written reflect an inner beauty also,
With your smile
I’m sure you always carry a rainbow with you
But fly not too far away
Empty your words on us and let us delight more by them

Karilea

I feel sadness in this, along with beauty.  Your jeweled wings are real.  Hugs!

Very striking poem. Somehow I think there is a happy ending in there somewhere.

Your leaving, for whatever reason or destination, would create an intolerable emptiness.

"I shall carry the rainbows with me,
leaving the empty behind."

Karilea,
I didn't know jewelry could fly.
But your words are jewels,
and they not only fly,
but float...

Karilea - I believe that you "carry the rainbows" with you everyday. Just lovely - enjoyed. Chris

Karilea, this is beautiful but there is overwhelming sadness of the empty. Go, fly, leave it behind and the rainbow will bring fullfilment.

There were times in all our lives, where they were fringed in jewels, and we wore them like a broach.  And we felt better about ourselves.  Till we realized that jewels are always better worn
on the inside.
