Somewhere in the Dreaming

I surrender my dreams
to the seasons;
I surrender my heart
to the falling of autumn leaves
as they drift down river
towards the sea.

And the sweet turnings of the seasons
Go running soft beside me in the night;
And the swift yearning of the seasons
Hurry by me
Like the heron in her flight.

I cast my heart
upon the ocean waves
To let it tumble back upon the shore
Changed by the seaward journey
To lie softly upon the strand
Etched by the moonlight's silver glow.

And the sweet turning of the seasons
Is drifting by me like a dandelion in flight;
And the swift yearning of the seasons
Whispers softly to me
As I dream on through the quiet night

Wow,  if I had all of this around me and
felt all of it,  I could sleep so easily..
It would certainly be a dream...

Dea,  you write beautiful poetry,  don't
kid yourself...you truly do....I am much
impressed by your free verse....

This is very gentle...
and for some reason, seemingly
very special for a very certain person...,
at least, that is how it seems
to be written...
