I watched once more
   this day unraveled
   from shore to shore
   as hearts traveled
   to zero ground
   where lost in holes
   an old wind found
   a stir of souls

Dust in the wind ...
   ... their clothes, face, and hair
   as the swirls mend
   the last past year's air
   drying their tears
   for those heros
   as a world nears,
   a stir of souls

Life taken by
   and yet so giving
   never to die
   hear, ... souls are living.


     As I watched and listened to the memorial service for those who died at the World Trade Center on 9/11/2001 there was one constant element those present could not avoid ... the wind. It lifted dust from everywhere, getting into peoples eyes, their clothes and their hair. No one tried to hide from it ... it was acceptable, almost as if it was meant to be. A stirring remark was made by one of the announcers that the wind started at the time the first plane had crashed into the tower ... perhaps a coincidence, perhaps heartfelt faith. Either way a message sent ... "hear what we have to say".

(tears fall down my cheeks) And I still feel the wind continues to blow the dust around as God wishes to remind us of the tears and encouraging us to rise and remember our heroes and again stand head over heels for faith and hope!
