Littoral Legacy
~*Marge Tindal*~

I've held the serenity of the sea
as it came rolling to the shores of me
Sand-of-castles cast in the brine
in littoral legacy at this tryst of time~

Sat the sand-edge of ebbing foam
as it gathered momentum on it's roam
Returned in graining one-by-one
finding the place where it was begun~

When it reaches across the sea
in another's hands held gingerly
I hope they feel the thoughts
that have trickled through my hand~

Word of the Day for September 15, 2002 -
www.dictionary.com

littoral \LIH-tuh-rul\, adjective -
Of, relating to, or on a coastal or shore region,
especially a seashore.

*Beautiful painting -
Oil On Burlap
Pidgeon Point - Mary Crittenden

Marge, this is a beautiful picture of the sea. And, you have written the most beautiful poem to go with it.

Both verse and picture are just lovely Marge.  Well done.

BillCharles~
Aw, thanks fella~

SweetSue~
I was taken with the word-of-the-day and then Mary's painting just seemed to show the very vastness that I was looking for~
Thanks, hon~

GentleSpirit~
Thank you sweetie~

Ah ... it's great 'mind-discipline'~
I use the word-of-the-day as inspiration to get the juices flowing~
I think everyone would have a different 'take' on it ... and it's an interesting study of word-thought~
Thank you hon~

Betty~
You 'know' I appreciate YOUENS~

Marge, this is soul expression.

Your writing is timeless, the ocean is timeless, and you are timeless.

I love this word ~ littoral. Thank you for word a day. I am getting smarter by the poem.      :-)

Ingenious what you can do with words and pictures.

Hugs friend, Marti

Every now and then take a good look at something not made
with hands -- a mountain, a star, the power of the ocean.
There will come to you wisdom,

EarthAngel~
My 'soul' searches the sea endlessly ...
so I hope to wash up on someone's shore and have them wonder as I do at the 'timelessness' of thoughts~
Thank you dear~

Seymour~
My words don't hold a 'candle' to your poetic thoughts ... but ... I will always keep trying~
Gonna collect that SQUEEZE in person in Tampa~

MartiGal~
I don't know about 'ingenious' ... but when it pops up in my mailbox ... I'll give it a try !
Love you gal~

BettyLou~
I truly felt the 'Littoral Legacy' come to life when I saw this painting~
Thank you dearest friend~
