Our Own Man of La Mancha

What woman does not yet see
this image of you, still in me
through the eye of blind I feel
with touch of finger, you, so real

My conqueror of love, my fighter, true,
now gone your ways alone, have you,
without your mother as your guide,
but with your Sancho, you did ride…

the man you were, I saw in dream
when as a child, you played in stream
you hefted rock, clasped hands in prayer
a man of words, a poet, rare

as sunlight filtered all your schemes
the roads oft taken were not serene
you stumbled, but you never fell
you gathered thoughts on which to dwell

the softer side you show to friends,
and wisdom? Ah, that you blend
with the mother I have left in you,
and for this, I enjoy my view…

~*~

Dedicated...
to Sy...
with great respect...
for his dreams
have led me to visions
of my own...

Karilea~What a beautiful tribute to our Sy this morning.
Such a loving portrayal he left for us of his mother to read this morning.
I'm sure he will enjoy this.
He is indeed our own Man of La Mancha.

OH Gosh!  It almost looks like him too...
I can't say which particular feature it is..

Nicely done KJ,  very deserving post to one
who has given their heart to you and so many
others through his writings....

Karilea, what a wonderful tribute to "Our Man Of The Morning" well, that is what I call him, but Man of La Mancha works too   Gee, I think you got the da dum down too, what a gal!

The most valuable thing you own is a smile, wear it, and share it.

To dub someone with such a title is praise indeed,
To do it so well is artistry

This is a totally lovely and fitting tribute, Karilea...
and I agree with Barry about the picture...
There is some element of it that even looks a bit like Sy...
Maybe its the expression...
Thanks for sharing it with us.
