This is one I wrote in October 1998 when we crossed from Wood's Hole to Martha's Vineyard: Virginia Salter Rolling, lifting, rising, shifting Rumble ‘neath our toes Cheery faces fore and aft Coffee tweaks our nose. Reaching toward Martha’s Vineyard Heading into the day Smiling hearts looking onward Where gulls and dolphins play. White caps dot the sea scape Color fills the azure sea Green sates the gardens Growing ‘long for thee. Disembarking at Oak Bluffs Flags a-waving in the sun Mothers, fathers, children, too Scurry out for fun. Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

I loved this. I like the part about the dolphins. Cold hands means a warm heart |

You have some beautiful imagery in this piece. I can imagine walking this beautiful crossing myself! Well done. Most of us go to our grave with our music still inside of us. |

I am always tickled when I read of places where I've been. There is something special about the summer time on the east coast. Enjoyed this very much. Nice writing VAS~ |
