REMINISCENCE

It started with a simple kiss
something I never thought I would miss

But you took it and wanted more
I didn't even try to resist

empty inside
no place for my emotions to hide

My heart broken
and open wide for all to notice
this destruction spread out by your lies

The feelings burn through my soul
of the loss you gave in return for the love you seem to spurn

Your faithful testimony to the end
turned terminal by your sin

Yet, I sit here ready to forgive
because of your smile and a simple kiss
